Instruments from 3GHz to 13GHz are generally targeted at specific communications applications. Spectrum Analyzers from 3GHz to 13GHz are generally scalar analyzers by nature but are more focused on measuring a range of frequencies in a swept time domain. There is also a category of Spectrum Analyzers >13GHz targeted at the microwave analysis. These units are called Microwave Transition Analyzers (MTA). Applications will include signals within a pass-band, interference analysis, link analysis, amplitude, deviation, spectral purity, stability and phase.
